Alvina Exports

You can find Alvina Exports at 679 in Chhota Bazar, right near Kashmeri Gate. This part of the city is very old and the buildings are all crowded together. The streets are narrow and you can hear the horns of the rickshaws all day long. Our shop is in a building that has been around for a long time. The walls are thick but you can still hear everything happening outside. We do a lot of exporting, so there are always boxes stacked up near the door waiting for the courier. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we have a big shipment going out. We have a small desk near the front where we keep the books and handle the orders. It’s a family-run thing, so there’s always someone around to talk to. We don't use much technology besides a phone and an old computer. Most of our business comes from people who have known us for years. The market is very competitive, but we just stay in our corner and do what we do. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just sit outside on the steps until it comes back. It’s just the way things are in this part of town. We don't mind the noise much anymore. Usually, we wrap things up around 8 PM. It’s a long day but it feels good to get things sent out to places far away.
