Akg Exim Pvt. Ltd. is located on the 3rd floor of the DDA Complex at Plot No. 7. Working in a DDA complex means dealing with a lot of concrete and stairs. Our office is a bit of a walk up if the lift is acting up again, which happens more often than we’d like. Inside, it’s mostly desks piled with paperwork and shipping documents. We deal with export and import stuff, so there are always phone calls going on and emails to check. It is not a silent place. You can hear the traffic from the road below and the general chatter of other offices in the building. Our furniture is mismatched and we’ve got stacks of files that probably should have been put away months ago. We don't spend money on fancy rugs or art for the walls. We just focus on getting the containers tracked and the customs forms filled out. The 3rd-floor view is just other buildings and the busy street, but it lets in some decent light. We have a small kettle for making tea and that’s about it for luxuries. It’s a plain, hardworking environment. We don’t have any big mission statements on the wall. We just come in, handle the logistics, and try to make sure nothing gets stuck at the port. It’s a lot of staring at screens and talking to transporters, but it keeps us busy.
