Pride Restaurant

We are way out here in Diglipur, which is quite a trip if you are coming from Port Blair. Pride Restaurant is situated near Kalipur Beach in North Andaman. It’s a different kind of pace out here compared to the city. The air smells like the sea, and things move a lot slower. We spend a lot of our time just getting everything ready for whoever walks through the door. Sometimes it’s tourists who have come all this way to see the turtles or the beach, and other times it’s just locals. The weather really dictates our day. If it’s raining hard, things get quiet, but on sunny days, it’s a bit more lively. We aren't a big fancy place with menus you can't read. It’s just a simple restaurant where we cook what we have and try to keep the place tidy. The walk down to Kalipur Beach is nice, and we often see the sun setting while we are finishing up our work. Being in North Andaman means you have to be resourceful because supplies don't always come on time. We’ve learned to make do with what’s available. It’s a lot of work running a kitchen out here, but we’ve been doing it long enough that it feels natural. We just open up, start the stoves, and see who the day brings. It’s a quiet life mostly, and we like the community we have around us here in Diglipur. We aren't trying to do anything more than provide a decent meal to people who find themselves in this corner of the islands.
