Mayabunder Agricultural Producer Company Limited

We’ve been working out here in Harinagar for a while now. Mayabunder is a quiet place, and most of us here are involved in farming one way or another. We formed the Mayabunder Agricultural Producer Company Limited to get everyone on the same page. It’s not a fancy setup. Our office is right here in the Tehsil. We deal with the crops that grow in this part of the Andaman Islands. Sometimes the weather makes things hard, but that's just how it is living on an island. There are a lot of families involved in this. We spend most of our days looking at the yields and figuring out how to get things to the market. It’s a lot of physical work and paperwork too. The roads around Harinagar aren't always the easiest to navigate. We just try to keep things moving. We aren't trying to do anything huge, just making sure the local agricultural stuff gets handled properly. Most of us grew up around here, so we know the land well. We meet up, talk about the seasons, and try to manage what we produce. It's a simple life in Mayabunder, really. We focus on the everyday tasks that come with running a producer company. It's about the dirt and the seeds and the local community here in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. We just get on with it and hope for good rains to help the crops.
