Youngmen Traders

We operate Youngmen Traders out of Aturia village in West Bengal. Our place is easy enough to find if you’re heading through the Baduria police station area in North 24 Parganas. It’s a rural setting, which suits the kind of trading work we do. We’ve been here for a long time, and the village of Aturia is where most of us grew up. The office is basically just a storage space and a small desk where we keep our records. Trading involves a lot of talking to people and moving goods from one place to another, so we spend a lot of time on our feet or on the phone. It’s not a polished corporate environment by any means. There’s usually some dust on the shelves and the sound of the village outside the window. We handle whatever comes our way, whether it's local supplies or things coming from further out in the district. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. It’s just us, the local guys, making sure the goods get to where they need to go. Life in this part of West Bengal moves at its own speed, and we’ve adapted our business to fit that. It’s a lot of hard work, especially when the weather is bad or the roads are rough, but we keep at it. We’re just a local business trying to make a living in our own community without any fuss.
