Our place is located in Raigachi, which is in the Rajarhat area of Kolkata. We’ve been operating Wirtgen India Pvt. Ltd. from this West Bengal location for a while now. Rajarhat has changed a lot lately with all the new buildings, but our spot remains a dedicated place for handling the business of road construction machinery and parts. It’s not a corporate skyscraper. It’s just a functional office where the local team gathers to manage the day’s work. We have people coming in and out all day, mostly dealing with service requests or checking on equipment orders. The weather in Kolkata can be pretty humid, so we keep the AC running most of the time to keep the paperwork from getting damp. Most of the staff here are locals who have been in the industry for years. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just make sure the machines are working and the parts are delivered where they are supposed to go. Sometimes the road to Raigachi gets a bit congested, so we have to plan our trips carefully. The office is usually filled with the sound of people talking on their mobiles and the occasional printer running. It’s a down-to-earth environment where we just focus on the practical side of the construction business. If you’re in the neighborhood, it’s a fairly easy place to find once you get into the Rajarhat section.
