Vidhya Sarathi

Vidhya Sarathi is located in Ghosh Para, which is a part of Ganganagar in Kolkata. It’s a local place where we help out with learning and books. The area is quite busy, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading out. Our building is easy to find if you know the neighborhood. Inside, it’s mostly shelves and tables. We have been here for some time now. Kolkata weather can be unpredictable, so when it rains, the sound on the roof is quite loud. We don't have fancy decorations on the walls, just some old maps and charts that have been there for years. The floor is simple tile, and we sweep it every morning before the first person arrives. It’s not a big institution with a lot of staff. We are just a few people who know the subjects. Students from nearby houses walk over after their school hours. We sit together and go over the lessons. Sometimes we stay late when exams are coming up. The street outside can get a bit muddy during the monsoon, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We keep a water cooler in the corner for anyone who gets thirsty. It’s a plain, honest space. We don't use any high-tech gadgets, just pencils, pens, and paper. I like the quiet atmosphere we have here when everyone is focused. It feels like a real community spot where people actually talk to each other and share ideas.
