You can find us at 757, Jessore Road, in the Sarada Pally part of Kolkata. If you know Jessore Road, you know how busy it gets with all the buses and trucks headed towards the airport. Our building is right there in the middle of all that noise. We’ve been operating Unit Construction Co. Ltd. from this location for quite some time now. The office has that old Kolkata feel to it—not very modern, but it works for what we need. We handle a lot of different construction tasks, mostly coordinating between suppliers and the people working on the ground. It’s not always easy because the traffic out front makes everything take longer than it should. We spend a lot of our day just managing schedules and trying to keep everything on track. There’s a lot of paper everywhere—plans, receipts, and notes scribbled on pads. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. Usually, if the phone rings, whoever is closest just picks it up. It’s a very hands-on kind of environment. We don’t go in for big marketing or trying to sound like a giant corporation. We are just a local company doing construction work. When it’s monsoon season, we just hope the roof doesn’t leak too much and that the sites don't get flooded. It’s just the usual daily struggle of getting things built in a crowded city like this one.
