The Shanti Kids Academy

The Shanti Kids Academy is over on S B Roy Chowdhury Road in Kolkata. Our house number is 23 and we are right near Doctors Corner. People in the neighborhood know the corner well because it is where a lot of local folks meet up or wait for transport. The street outside is not too wide but it gets plenty of light during the day. We have a few rooms here that we use for everything. It is a bit of a humble setup with wooden tables and some colorful things on the walls to make it look less like a plain room. Sometimes you can hear the birds in the trees outside or the sound of a bell from a passing cycle. We try to keep things organized but with the way things go, there is usually a bit of clutter on the desks. It feels very much like a local home that has been turned into a workplace. We have a small area for people to sit if they are waiting for something. The neighborhood is mostly families living their lives, so it is a friendly spot to be in. If you are walking from the main road, the Doctors Corner sign is the best thing to watch out for. Once you see that, we are just a few steps away. We like being in this part of town because it feels real and not too corporate.
