Start with the location. It's out in Bilkanda. The drive is a bit of a pain during the monsoon because of the mud. We've been at the Natun Rastha spot for a long time now. Most of the people working here are from around the 24 Parganas district, so they know the shortcuts to avoid the main road traffic. Inside the shop, it's mostly the sound of metal and the smell of grease. We spend a lot of time checking the valve specs because if they aren't right, they just sit on the shelf. The floor gets pretty hot in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the corrugated roof. We usually take a break around four for tea from the stall just down the road. It isn't a fancy setup. There’s a lot of paperwork piled up on the desks and sometimes the internet goes out when it rains too hard. We just keep doing what we do, making sure the orders are packed and ready for the trucks. Sometimes the drivers get lost looking for the address since it's a bit tucked away, so one of us usually has to stand out by the turnoff to wave them in. It's a regular day-to-day grind, just trying to get things out the door without too much trouble. We've seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, with more buildings going up where there used to be empty lots and fields. It keeps us busy.
