Sriramkrishna Homoeo Clinic is right in the heart of the Canning Old Market. If you know the South 24 Pgs area, you know how crowded it gets around here. There is always the sound of people shouting and carts moving by. Our door is right off the main path. Inside, it’s a bit more peaceful. We have a counter where I sit and take down the details of whoever walks in. It’s a simple space with some benches along the wall. The floors are stone and stay cool even when the sun is beating down on the market outside. We have lots of little jars and bottles filled with different preparations. Most people come to us because they’ve tried other things and want something different. We see a lot of regulars who live just a few streets away. The market workers often stop by after their shift is done. I spend a lot of time cleaning the glass on the cabinets because the dust from the street gets in everywhere. It’s a basic clinic, nothing too modern, but it serves the people here well. The doctor has his own small room in the back where he talks to the patients. We keep a calendar on the wall to track the days. Sometimes the rain makes it hard for people to get to the market, but we stay open anyway. It’s just a part of the daily life in Canning.
