Soumi Tour & Travels

You can find Soumi Tour & Travels at 24 Rabindrapally on Sodepur Road in Madhyamgram. It is a bit of a trek from the main city, but this is where we live and work. The office is part of a small row of shops. We have a big map of India on the wall with pins in it, though some of the pins have fallen off over the years. We handle all sorts of travel things here. Usually, the mornings are spent calling hotels and checking if they have rooms. The afternoon is when people usually stop by after they finish their work. We have a few chairs for guests and a desk that is always covered in pens and sticky notes. It is not the most organized place, but we know where everything is. The internet is decent here, which helps with the bookings. We get a lot of locals who want to take their families out for the holidays. We know most of the kids in the neighborhood because they peek through the window at the posters. It is a friendly atmosphere, nothing like those stiff offices in the city center. We don't wear suits or anything. We just wear our regular clothes and talk to people like they are our neighbors, which they usually are. It is a simple life running a travel desk in Madhyamgram.
