We are located out on Jessore Road, right in the Narikela Gaighata area. If you know the road, you know how the traffic can be, especially with all the trucks moving goods back and forth. Our place is basically a hub where things come and go all day. It is not a quiet spot by any means. There is always the sound of engines and people shouting instructions. Inside, we have our desks and a lot of ledgers because there is so much to keep track of when you are dealing with exports and imports. Sometimes the dust from the road gets into everything, but we try to keep the paperwork clean. It is a lot of waiting for shipments to arrive or for papers to get cleared. We spend a lot of time on the phone with drivers or people at the warehouse. It is not the kind of job where you sit still for very long. The office feels a bit cramped when we have a lot of stock moving, but we manage to find a corner for our tea. We have been in this Gaighata spot for a while now and we know most of the people nearby. It is a practical location for what we do, even if the commute on Jessore Road takes forever some mornings. We just open up early and stay until the last task is done for the day. It is simple work, really.
