Over at 2/1 Choudhury Para Lane in Belghoria, we have another office for Shapoorji Pallonji & Co. Ltd. It’s tucked away in a bit of a lane, so it’s not always the easiest to find for newcomers. The pin code is 700056 if you’re looking it up. It’s a very local atmosphere here. We aren't trying to be some big corporate entity when we’re in the office. We’re just folks who know how to build things. The space is filled with desks that are a bit cluttered with calculators, pens, and site logs. We don't have fancy art on the walls, just maybe some old maps of the area. It’s a working environment. We deal with all the small details that go into large-scale engineering. Sometimes the lane outside gets flooded during heavy rains, but we still make it in. We don't use a lot of marketing talk because our work speaks for itself on the sites. We focus on getting the materials delivered and making sure the permits are in order. It’s a lot of boring stuff that's actually quite important. Most of the staff has been here for a long time, so we’re like a small family. We don't have big meetings with slides; we just talk across the room. It’s practical, slightly messy, and very real. That’s just life at our Kolkata office.
