You can find Sgs Electronics Devices Inc. at 5 Haripada Mukherjee Street. It’s one of those narrow streets where you have to pull your mirrors in if a car comes the other way. The building is old and has that specific smell of dust and age. We are on the ground floor. It’s a small operation. We don't have a lot of staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. One minute you are answering the phone and the next you are looking for a screwdriver in a pile of junk. The walls are painted a dull cream color that has started to peel near the ceiling. We have a lot of bins filled with small parts like resistors and capacitors. It looks like a mess to an outsider, but we know exactly where everything is stored. The street outside is usually busy with people going to the local shops. We hear the tea seller calling out every morning. Sometimes we go out and get a cup ourselves when we need a break. It’s a very local way of working. We don't have a website that we update or anything like that. People mostly just know us from the neighborhood. We have a couple of old wooden desks that have been here since the start. It’s just a simple place where we work on electronic devices and try to stay out of trouble while getting things done.
