R.K.-N.B Academy

R.K.-N.B Academy is situated in Chak Raypur, which is part of the Iyarpur area in South 24 Parganas. It is a bit of a walk from the main transport hubs, but the local vans and rickshaws come through here pretty often. The school is surrounded by a lot of local houses and some small ponds that are common in this part of Bengal. We have a gate that we paint every couple of years to keep it from rusting too much. Inside, the rooms are plain with white walls and wooden benches that have been used by many batches of students. We don’t have an air conditioner or anything like that, just big windows to let the air in. In the summer, it gets quite stuffy, but we manage. The staff room is always a bit cluttered with notebooks and tea cups. Most of the people who work here live in the same neighborhood, so we know the families of the kids quite well. There is a small shop nearby that sells snacks, and it gets very crowded when the school finishes for the day. We are just a regular academy doing our part in 743609. It’s a busy place with a lot of shouting and laughter during the breaks. We don’t have much in the way of fancy equipment, just the usual boards and some charts on the walls. It stays busy until late afternoon when the sun starts going down over the fields.
