You’ll find us on Shyama Charan Chatterjee Street in Belgharia. The building is 1/3, and it’s a typical Kolkata street where things are always happening. The lane is a bit narrow, so if you’re coming by car, it’s better to park a bit further away and walk. We’ve been in this spot for quite some time now. The building is solid but shows its age, just like most of the structures in this part of town. Inside, it’s mostly desks and shelves filled with papers. We don’t have central air conditioning, just a few fans that hum all day long to keep the humidity at bay. The neighborhood is very lively. There’s a sweet shop just down the road that we visit almost every afternoon. Our team here is small, mostly people who live nearby and have been working with us for years. We handle the local distribution and coordination stuff without making a big fuss about it. Sometimes the rain gets so heavy that water pools at the entrance, but we’ve got a system for that too. It’s not a fancy place, and we don’t try to make it look like one. It’s just where we come to work and get things done. We know the postman and the guy who delivers the water jars. It’s a community-based way of working and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
