We are based out of 20/82 Padma Pukur Road, right near the Roy Bahadur Road intersection. It’s quite close to the Kankinara Railway Station, so the sound of the trains is pretty much our daily soundtrack. Being in Fingapara, we are right in the heart of an old industrial belt. The building we’re in has seen a lot of years go by. It’s got high ceilings and those old-style windows that let in a bit of a breeze. Our desks are old-fashioned wooden ones, and we have heaps of ledger books and files everywhere. It’s definitely not a modern, minimalist office. There’s a lot of history in this area, and we feel like part of it. The walk from the station to the office is short, but it’s always crowded with people heading to work. We have a small staff here, and most of us have been with the group for a long time. We handle a lot of the logistical and administrative tasks for our various interests from this one spot. It can get a bit hectic during the monsoon when the roads get muddy, but we just keep going. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, focusing on the tasks at hand without any extra fluff. We like the familiarity of the neighborhood and the people who live here.
