It is quite peaceful out here in Jagannathpur village. We set up Priti Spice Pvt. Ltd. a long time ago. The office is located in South 24 Parganas, which is a bit of a drive from the main city. Most of our days are pretty busy with the usual chores. We deal with the kind of stuff people use in their home kitchens every single day. Saharar Hat is our local post office, so that’s where our mail comes through. Falta is the nearest police station, and we see it every time we head out on the main road. It gets incredibly humid here, especially during the long monsoon months when the rain doesn't seem to stop. We spend many hours checking the bags of spices and making sure the storage is dry. The roads around here can be a bit bumpy and narrow, but we’ve gotten used to it. Local people from the village come in to work with us, so it feels more like a community project than a big company. We don’t have any fancy office chairs or glass desks. It’s just a lot of practical work to get through before the sun starts to go down. Most of the neighbors know exactly where we are if they need anything. If you’re visiting, you have to keep a sharp eye out for the turn-off from the highway. It isn't a massive factory, just a place where we get our work done day by day.
