If you are heading down V I P Rd in Deshbandhunagar, you will find us at A/51. We are right beside the Mukesh Hyundai showroom and not too far from the Kestopore Bus Stand. It’s a pretty busy spot with all the traffic coming off the main road. At New Art Samanta Furniture, we spend our days surrounded by wood, saws, and the smell of varnish. The workshop isn't very large, but we’ve managed to fit everything we need inside. We make all sorts of stuff like beds, chairs, and cupboards for people living nearby. Often, customers come in with a rough idea or a drawing on a piece of paper, and we see what we can do to make it real. It is dusty work, and there is always sawdust on the floor no matter how many times we sweep it up. We have been at this location for a while, so the neighbors know the sound of our hammers. Sometimes the wood doesn't behave exactly how you want it to, so you have to be patient with it. We aren't a big factory; it is just a few of us working with our hands. People like that they can just walk in from the bus stand and see what we are building that day. We keep it simple and just try to make pieces that will hold up for a long time in someone’s home. Our focus is just on the wood and the tools. It is honest work for us.
