You can find our Siemens Ltd branch over at 60 Bodhikanan in Sodepur, Kolkata. This part of West Bengal is a bit different from the main city center, and we like the vibe here. Our office is located in a spot that’s easy enough for us to get to every day. It’s a modest setup, nothing like those tall glass buildings you see downtown. We have a few rooms where we manage our daily schedules and keep our equipment records. The area around Bodhikanan is fairly quiet, which is nice when we need to concentrate on technical drawings or reports. Most of us have been working here for a long time, so we’re like a small family. We don't have a lot of visitors, mostly just the occasional delivery or a colleague from another site. We spend a lot of time making sure our tools are ready and the paperwork is in order. It’s a very practical way of working. There’s no big corporate culture here; we just come in, do our jobs, and have some chai together in the evening. Sodepur is a good place to be based because it feels more like a neighborhood than a business district. We just try to keep things simple and stay on top of what needs to be done. It’s steady work and it keeps us busy. We usually leave the windows open to let a bit of a breeze in.
