Mondal Travels

We are over here at Ba-52 in Prafullya Kanan West, right on the VIP Road. If you know where the SBI Bank is, then you have basically found us. It gets pretty loud with all the cars going by toward the airport, but we have been in this spot for a good while now. Mondal Travels is just a small place, really. We spend most of our mornings answering the phone and checking train timings on the old computer. Sometimes the internet acts up when it rains, which happens a lot in Kolkata, but we manage. People from Prafulla Kanan often drop in just to ask about ticket prices or where they should go for a short weekend trip. We don't have fancy leather chairs or anything like that. It is just a desk, some wooden stools for visitors, and a lot of paper files piled up in the corner. My nephew helps out with the typing sometimes because my eyes aren't what they used to be. We drink a lot of tea from the stall next door while we work through the bookings. It isn't a big corporate office with glass walls. It is just a room where we try to get things sorted for anyone who wants to travel. We know the local routes well because we live around here too. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the traffic, but usually, there is someone coming in with a question about a bus or a flight.
