Mondal Pan Arot

Our business is out in Amratola village. To get here, you have to go through Haranandapur and find your way toward Mograhat. It’s a bit of a trek if you aren’t from around these parts. The area is mostly farmland and small houses, so it's a very friendly place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We have been running this pan arot for quite some time now. It’s a simple structure, mostly wood and tin, but it stays cool enough in the summer. We spend a lot of our time sorting through the leaves and making sure everything is ready for the day. It’s repetitive work, but we find a rhythm in it. Sometimes the neighbors come by and sit for a while just to escape the sun. We don't really have a set closing time; we just stay until the work is finished or people stop coming by. The roads get a bit tricky when the monsoon hits, but that's just life in the village. We don't have any big dreams of expanding or becoming a huge company. We are happy just being here in Amratola and serving the folks who live nearby. It’s a decent way to make a living and we get to stay close to home and family. Sometimes the shipments are late, and sometimes the crops are small, but we just take it as it comes. It is honest work.
