Ministry Of Defence

This is the office for the Commander Works Engineer at the Barrackpore Military Cantt in Kolkata. We are located in a pretty old part of the cantonment, which has its own kind of charm. Mr. Rajan Agrawal is the IDSE officer here, and the rest of us just handle the daily grind. Being in a military area means everything is very orderly, but our office itself can get a bit messy with all the project files and site plans lying around. We spend a lot of time dealing with maintenance and construction issues across the base. It is not a glamorous job. We are often out in the field or stuck behind a desk checking figures. The weather in Kolkata is usually humid, so the fans are always going full speed. We have got a small team here, and we have all worked together for a long time. There is no fancy lobby or tea service for visitors. You just come in, state your business, and we see what we can do. The building is solid but old, with thick walls that keep it a bit cooler than outside. We do not really do marketing because we are part of the Ministry Of Defence. Our focus is just on getting the work done and making sure the barracks and facilities are in good shape. It is a practical, no-nonsense kind of place where we just get through the daily tasks.
