Metal And Steel Factory,Ishapur,Kolkata Under O.F. Board

This place is tucked away in North 24 Parganas, specifically in the Park Estate area of Ichapur-Nawabganj. Our office is actually in Quarter Number 120/East on the first floor. It’s part of the old factory grounds under the O.F. Board. There’s a lot of history in these buildings, you can feel it in the thick walls and the way the stairs creak. Being in West Bengal, the greenery around the estate gets quite thick during the monsoon season. It’s a quiet area compared to the main city of Kolkata. We spend most of our time dealing with the paperwork and logistics that come with being part of such a large steel and metal works environment. The office itself is pretty basic. We have some old wooden desks and filing cabinets that have seen better days. It isn’t a place with glass walls or modern art. It’s functional. You hear the distant sounds of the factory sometimes, which reminds us of the scale of what happens here. Living and working in the quarters means the community is tight-knit. We know most of the people walking by. The postman knows exactly where to find us without looking at the ID. It’s a steady kind of life here. We just keep things running as they should, day in and day out, without making a big deal of it. We take pride in just showing up and doing what is expected of us every single day.
