Our office for Ivrcl Infrastructures & Projects Ltd. is located in the Mahanam Angan building in Raghu Nathpur. If you know Kolkata, you know how busy VIP Road can get with all the traffic and noise. We are right in the middle of that at Pin-700059. It isn't a high-end corporate park, just a regular place where we get our work done. The office is usually filled with the sound of the street outside and the hum of a few fans. We don't have a reception desk or anyone to greet you with a script. It’s just us sitting around desks covered in maps and project schedules. Managing infrastructure projects in a city like Kolkata is a challenge because of the congestion and the heavy rains during monsoon season. We spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to move equipment through the narrow streets. We drink a lot of tea and talk about timelines and materials. There’s no fancy language here, just plain talk about bricks and cement. Most of our staff are local folks who know the city well. We are just trying to keep our projects on track without too much fuss. It is a gritty job and the office reflects that. We don't care much for looking polished. We just want to make sure the work is finished properly and that the logistics are handled every day.
