We’ve been here at The Park Estate in Ishapore for a long time. It’s mostly just us working on what the Ministry of Defence needs from our corner of the 24 Paraganas district. You can find us at Quarter Number 50E, right on the ground floor. It’s a busy spot but quiet in the evenings once the shift ends. The factory itself is a big part of why this whole area exists. People around here know the rhythms of the place. We don't do much fancy stuff, just handle the day-to-day operations and make sure everything is where it should be. The office is tucked away, and sometimes the mail gets a bit mixed up because of how the quarters are numbered, but we manage. It’s a government setup, so there are lots of papers and specific ways of doing things that haven’t changed in years. We’re right by the post office, which makes things easier for sending out documents. The weather gets quite humid here during the monsoon, and the old buildings show it, but the structure is solid. It’s basically just a group of us making sure the production stays on track for the government. Nothing flashy. We just show up, do the hours, and keep the machinery or the paperwork moving. It’s a living, breathing part of West Bengal’s industrial history if you really look at it.
