We are based out in Ichapore Indrapuri, which is near Nawabgunj in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. It’s an industrial sort of area, not far from the old factories. Our workshop and office are combined into one space here. We handle a lot of the control systems and equipment tasks for different clients. The place is usually full of wires, panels, and tools lying around. It’s not the cleanest office, but that’s because we’re actually working on things rather than just sitting at desks. The humidity in West Bengal can be a real pain for the electronics, so we have to be careful with how we store everything. We’ve been in this spot for several years now. It’s a bit of a trek from the main part of Kolkata, but it’s quieter out here. We have a small crew of technicians who know their way around the machinery at Hindustan Controls & Equipment Pvt. Ltd. Most of us take the train to get here and then walk from the station. The neighbors are mostly other small workshops and homes. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. Most of our days are spent troubleshooting or assembling parts for the next job. It’s a busy life, but we enjoy the technical side of things. We just try to get the orders out on time without too much fuss. It's a simple, hardworking environment.
