Cosmic Garment

If you know the Basirhat Old Market, you probably know where the 72 number bus stand is. We are right across from Alpana Jewellers, near the tempo stand. It is a very loud spot because of all the vehicles and people shouting for passengers. Our shop, Cosmic Garment, has been sitting here in North 24 Parganas for a long time. The space is a bit cramped because we try to fit a lot of inventory on the shelves. We mostly handle clothes that folks around Basirhat need for school or work. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, so we are always wiping down the counters. It is a bit of a struggle keeping things clean with the bus stand right there. Being opposite the jewelry shop helps people find us easily. The market gets really packed on certain days, and we barely have room to move around. We drink a lot of tea while waiting for customers. My cousin usually sits at the front, and I handle the stock in the back. It is not a fancy setup, just some wooden racks and a few lights. We don't have any big signs, just the name on the front. It is a local business through and through. We see the same people every week. The heat in the afternoon can be tough, but once the sun goes down, the market gets a nice breeze. That is usually when we are busiest. We stay open until the last bus leaves and the lights go out.
