Apaarseva Foundation

Apaarseva Foundation is based in Roy Nagar, Diamond Harbour. We are set up care of Mira Das, near the W. T. Tank. Being down here in South 24 Parganas means we are quite close to the water. The air always feels a bit damp, especially during the monsoon. The office is just a couple of rooms where we keep all our supplies and records. It’s not a fancy place, and we often have to move things around to make space for visitors. Mira Das has been kind enough to let us use this space, and it’s become a bit of a hub for us. We spend a lot of our time traveling to nearby villages, so the office is often empty during the day. When we are there, it’s usually a mess of folders and tea cups. We don't have a big budget for things like new chairs or air conditioning, so we just use what we have. A couple of ceiling fans keep the air moving, which is enough most days. People from the neighborhood stop by to ask questions or just to say hello. It’s a very friendly atmosphere, and we like it that way. We don't want to seem like some distant organization. We’re just local people working in Diamond Harbour, trying to make things go a little smoother for everyone around here.
