If you ever find yourself heading toward Baduria in North 24 Parganas, you might pass by our place in Vill-Anarpur. It’s not much to look at, just a regular office where we handle the Agility Logistics business. We’ve been in this spot for quite some time now. Most of the folks working here are from the nearby villages, so we all know each other well. The mornings are usually the busiest time because that’s when the drivers show up to get their papers. We sit around, have some tea, and go over the routes for the day. The roads around here can be a bit of a mess, especially when it rains hard, which happens a lot in West Bengal. We spend a lot of time on the phone trying to figure out where the trucks are stuck or if the loading is finished. It’s mostly just making sure things move from one place to another without getting lost or broken. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or big corporate talk. We just want to finish the day’s work so we can go home to our families. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to work by candlelight for a bit, but we’re used to it by now. It’s a simple life running a transport business in a village, but it keeps us busy and pays the bills. There’s always another load to move tomorrow.
