Zanelini Leatherwear

Prem Kumar Kwatra here. We are in Noida, Sector-61. Our spot is B-502 at Parkview Apartment, right on the E-10B plot. It is basically a home office setup. We started Zanelini because we liked working with leather materials. It is a tough business to be in. You have to check every single hide for marks and scratches. My living room is often full of samples and rolls of leather. Noida-201301 is changing really fast these days but Sector-61 stays mostly quiet. We do not have a storefront. It is more about the manufacturing and design side of things for us. We get orders and we just try to fill them as they come. Sometimes we are up late finishing sketches or checking the stitching on a new piece. The leather smell is everywhere in the apartment. It is just how it is. We are not a big factory. We deal with specific leatherwear pieces. People call us up and we talk through what they need. It has been a few years since we moved into Parkview. The balcony has a decent view, but mostly I am looking at leather swatches. My friend helped me get the name sorted years ago. It sounded right at the time. We are not trying to be the biggest company in India. We just want to make stuff that does not fall apart after a month of use. Leather is tricky to work with because every piece is different. You make mistakes and you learn. We just keep at it day after day.
