Vastu Shilp Architects

Vastu Shilp Architects is run out of House Number 285 in Sector 61, Noida. It is a residential house that we use as our office space. This gives it a very different feel than a glass-and-steel building in a business park. We have our drawing boards and computers set up in the rooms where we work on architectural plans. Sector 61 is a relatively quiet part of Noida, which is good when you need to concentrate on a complicated drawing. We spend hours looking at floor plans and thinking about how spaces work together. Since we are architects, we are always thinking about Vastu and how it fits into modern buildings. It is a mix of old ideas and new ways of building. We don't have a big fancy lobby. You just come to the house and we sit down to talk about what you need. Sometimes the neighbors are out walking their dogs while we are inside arguing over where a wall should go. It’s a very human way to work. We have been doing this for years, and we have seen Noida change quite a bit from this house. It is a lot of hard work and attention to small details that most people might miss. We keep things simple and focus on the blueprints in front of us. Most of our days are spent sketching and drinking tea while we figure out how to make a space feel right for the people living in it.
