Tint-N-Shade (The Art World)

Our place is Tint-N-Shade, or as some call it, The Art World. You can find us at C-1/82 in Sector 31. It’s a residential area mostly, so it’s not as loud as the main markets in the city. We’ve been here in this building for quite some time now. The space is filled with all sorts of frames, glass, and tools we use for our daily tasks. It smells like wood and glue most of the time. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the materials. We spend a lot of time measuring things and cutting them down to size. Sometimes we make mistakes and have to start over, which is frustrating, but that’s just how it goes when you’re working with your hands. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most of our work happens on the big tables in the back. Customers usually just come in and tell us what they need, and we write it down in a yellow notepad we keep by the door. The windows let in some good light in the morning, which helps when we're doing the detailed parts of the job. We don’t spend money on advertising. People in the sector just know we're here. We close up around 7 or 8 depending on how much work is left. It’s a steady life and we’re happy with the way things are going. We just keep our heads down and work.
