Shunye Electronics Pvt Ltd is based at A-33, Sector-83, Phase-ll in Noida. This part of Noida is basically nothing but rows of factory buildings and warehouses. Our building is a simple structure where we handle all our electronics work. Inside, it’s mostly long tables and soldering stations. We spend the day looking through magnifying glasses at tiny components that all look the same to the untrained eye. Sector-83 is a bit far from the main city, so it’s a bit of a commute for everyone. The morning tea break is when most of the actual talking happens before we go back to the quiet of the assembly line. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to answer the phones with a scripted greeting. If you call, you just get whoever is closest to the desk. The floor is usually covered with little bits of wire and plastic shavings by the end of the shift. We make sure to sweep up every evening before we head out. The windows are high up, so we don't see much of the outside world while we are working. The security guard at the gate is nice and usually shares some news about the local traffic. Sometimes we have to stay late when a shipment is delayed, and the whole place feels very different under the fluorescent lights. We focus on getting the assemblies right without overcomplicating things. It’s just honest work, nothing too flashy or complicated.
