Our branch for Shapoorji Pallonji & Co.Ltd is located in the village of Aurangabad, which is in the Bulandshahar district of Uttar Pradesh. Manoj Sharma is the person you’ll usually find here, and he handles a lot of the day-to-day stuff at this site. The office is right in the V+P area of Aurangabad, so it’s a very local, rural setting. We don’t have any of those big glass windows or fancy air conditioning systems you see in the cities. It’s a simple room with a few desks and a lot of registers. We spend a lot of time out in the dust and the sun, so the office is mostly a place to escape the heat for a bit. The roads out here can be a bit rough, especially after it rains, but we are used to it by now. We work closely with the people from the surrounding villages. It is a very basic operation where the focus is just on getting the building work finished. We usually have our lunch together and talk about whatever is going on in the neighborhood. There is no corporate polish here, just some hardworking people doing their jobs. We don’t have any marketing materials or mission statements on the walls. It’s just a functional space for a functional business. We try to keep things moving and make sure the supplies arrive on time.
