Blue Ribbons India

Down in Sector 65, at B 70, you’ll find us. Blue Ribbons India isn't a place with a glass front or a fancy lobby. It’s more of a workspace where things actually happen. We have rolls of material and tools scattered across the benches. Some days the floor is covered in scraps and thread, and we have to do a big sweep before we leave. It’s a bit noisy when all the machines are going at once, so we usually have to shout a bit to be heard. We’ve been in this building for several years now. The neighborhood has changed a bit, but B 70 stays pretty much the same. We have a small window that looks out onto the street, but it’s usually too dirty to see much. Most of our day is spent focusing on the details of whatever is on the table. We don't have any big meetings or long speeches. We just check the list and get to it. Sometimes the power goes out, and we all just sit around and talk until it comes back on. It’s a regular job for regular people. We know our neighbors and we know the delivery guys who come by every afternoon. There’s a certain rhythm to the work here that makes the time go by fast. It’s not always easy, but it’s what we do. Every morning when we unlock the door, there is a certain smell of fabric and metal that lets us know we're back at it again.
