Charlie Dyeing is tucked away in Sector 52, not too far from the Mata Ka Mandir. Having the temple nearby is a nice landmark, and you can often hear the bells during the day. Our workplace is pretty basic because dyeing is a messy job. There’s always water on the floors and the smell of different dyes in the air. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear your best shoes. We’ve got vats and drying racks taking up most of the space. It’s hard work, and your hands usually end up stained by the end of the shift, but that’s just part of the trade. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing department. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here in Sector 52 for a while and people know where to find us. The sun hits the drying area in the afternoon, which helps with the process. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with the machinery and people shouting over the noise to be heard. We’re just a small crew trying to get the colors right and keep the orders moving out the door. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We don’t make big promises, we just do the dyeing and hope the weather stays clear for the drying. That’s pretty much life here in Sector 52 near the temple.
