If you head over to Sector 24, you’ll find us at A - 10/A. This is where the Footwear Design And Development Institute is located. It’s a busy place with people always moving around, working on patterns or checking out different materials. The building is a bit of a maze if you aren’t used to it, with different rooms for different stages of the work. We spend most of our time dealing with the practical side of making shoes. It isn't just about the drawings; it's about how the leather feels and if the soles are going to hold up over time. The workshop can get a little noisy with the machines running, and there’s usually that specific smell of glue and materials in the air. We’ve been in this sector for quite some time now. Most of us have our own little corners where we keep our tools and notes. It’s not a fancy corporate office with glass walls, just a functional space where we can get things done. We have a small area where we keep the finished samples, and it’s always interesting to see how they turn out after all the work. The commute to Sector 24 can be a bit of a pain in the mornings, but once we’re inside and the coffee is ready, the day moves pretty fast. It’s a hands-on kind of place, and we like that about it.
