We are over at No. F-15 Sector-20 and the phone rings a lot. Most people just want to see a tiger or at least get into the park for a few hours. It is busy work during the peak season when the gates open. We spend a lot of time on the computer checking for slots and dates. Sometimes the internet is slow or the government site acts up and we just have to wait it out. It is not a fancy job but we know the park rules well. The office is pretty small and we keep all the files organized in cabinets. When people stop by, we tell them which zone might be good based on what we heard from the drivers that morning. It’s mostly about getting the permits sorted so nobody gets stuck at the gate. Jim Corbett is a big place and the booking system can be a bit of a headache if you don’t do it every day. We’ve seen many families come through here. Some are excited and some are just tired from the drive. We just try to get the paperwork done right. The tea guy comes around twice a day and that is usually when we take a break. It gets dusty in the summer and cold in the winter around here. We just keep doing what we do at the desk and hope the weather stays clear for the jeeps.
