You can find Sahid Auto Electrician over at Shop C-79 in Sector-9. This whole motorcycle market is usually a loud place with bikes revving and mechanics shouting to each other across the lanes. It is not the cleanest spot, but it is where the work gets done. There are always piles of wires and old batteries around the shop. I spend most of my time leaning over a bike or sitting on a small stool trying to figure out why a starter motor isn’t turning. It is greasy work, and my hands are usually black with soot by noon. The shop is small, so we end up doing most of the jobs right out on the pavement. People come in from all over the sector when their lights fail or if the wiring has been chewed by a rat. There is no fancy waiting room here, just a bench if you are lucky. We share tools with the guys next door and sometimes get tea from the stall at the corner. The heat in the afternoon can be pretty bad under the tin roof, but we keep the fan going. It is just a normal day-to-day life of fixing things that are broken. No one here is wearing a uniform or following a big corporate manual. We just look at the problem, try to fix it, and move on to the next bike in line. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do.
