S K Technoplast

Over at D 92 in Sector 7, that’s where S K Technoplast is. We’ve been running this place for a good bit now. It’s mostly technical plastic work, which means a lot of precision and making sure the molds are clean. The space isn’t huge, but we’ve organized it so every machine has its spot. Mornings start with checking the electricity and getting everything warmed up. It takes a while for things to get going properly. We don’t really have customers walking in off the street like a grocery store. Most of our work is from regular clients who send us their requirements via phone or email. We spend a lot of time measuring things with calipers and making sure the plastic isn't warping under the heat. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially near the extruders. We keep a cooler in the corner that mostly just moves the warm air around, but it's better than nothing. There's always a pile of delivery notes on my desk that need signing and filing. Sometimes the raw material delivery is late and we have to shuffle the jobs around to stay busy. It's just the two or three of us managing the whole thing. We like the independence of having our own unit. It’s a lot of responsibility, but at the end of the day, seeing the finished products stacked up ready to go is a good feeling. We aren't trying to be the biggest in Jaipur.
