R P Auto Styles is up on the first floor of D-135 in Sector- 63, and it’s usually pretty loud. Being in an industrial sector like this means there’s always the sound of engines or tools going somewhere nearby. Our space isn't huge, but we make it work for what we need to do with the cars. There’s usually a bit of oil on the floor despite how much we clean, but that’s just part of the job. We spend most of the day tinkering with parts or trying to figure out why something isn't fitting right. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially in the summer, so we have a couple of big fans that move the air around. We’ve got a small area where we keep the tools, and it’s a constant struggle to make sure nobody walks off with the 10mm wrench. Most of the guys here have been working on vehicles for years, so we don't need much instruction. We just get the keys and start working. It’s a lot of standing and bending over hoods, which makes your back ache by five o'clock. We take our breaks sitting on crates out front when the weather is nice. People come in with all sorts of requests, some simple and some that take all day. We just take it as it comes and try to get the work out the door. It is a bit of a grind but we like it.
