Setor-6 is mostly factories and workshops, and we fit right in at D59-60. Nachi Motherson Tool Technology Limited is a bit of a long name, but we usually just think of ourselves as the tool guys. It’s a workspace where you’re going to get some grease on your hands. We spend our days looking at precision parts and making sure the technology is doing what it’s supposed to do. The industrial area can be a bit gray and drab, but inside, there’s always something happening. With the machines running, the sound of metal on metal is just part of the day. It’s not a quiet office by any means. We talk over the noise and share lunch at the small tables in the back. There’s no big cafeteria or anything fancy. Sometimes the electricity cuts out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which gives everyone a minute to catch their breath. We work hard because the tools we make end up in places where they have to be right. A lot of responsibility comes with that, but we don’t make a big deal out of it. We just show up, do the work, and make sure the measurements are correct. It’s a practical life here in the setor. Most of us live nearby, so we know the local shops and the shortcuts to avoid the main road traffic. Steady work for honest people is what we do.
