Our shop sits right on the Main Road in Bishampura, which is part of Sector 58. Being on the main road means there is always a lot of traffic and noise outside. The dust from the road comes inside pretty easily, so we have to wipe down the paint cans and the hardware bins almost every morning. We carry a bit of everything—plumbing stuff, basic tools, and a good variety of paints. It’s a practical kind of place. We don’t have fancy displays or glass windows. The front is mostly open so people can see what we have as they drive or walk by. Sometimes the trucks dropping off supplies block the road for a minute, and people get impatient with their horns. We just try to get the stuff inside as fast as we can. The shelves are heavy wood and they groan a bit under the weight of the metal fittings. We’ve got a small desk in the corner where we keep the bills and a calculator that’s missing a button. It’s a bit cramped when more than three people come in at once. But it works for us. We know most of the regulars by their first names or at least by what kind of projects they are working on. It’s just a normal neighborhood hardware store. We stay open until the sun goes down and the traffic thins out.
