I set up shop at 4 Noida Main Road, right by the Mangal Bazar Chowk. If you know that area, you know how busy it gets, especially on market days when the streets are full of people. I have been painting for a long time now. My brushes are mostly old, but they still work fine if you take care of them and clean them properly. I keep my cans and ladders near the back. Usually, I am out on a job, but this is where everything is kept. The walls here are covered in different paint splotches where I was testing colors for someone. It is a small place, but it serves its purpose. I don't have a big office or a secretary. It’s just me and the work. People come by the chowk and ask if I have time for a small room or a whole house. I tell them what I can do and we go from there. The traffic noise from the main road is something you just get used to after a while. I like being in the middle of things. Sometimes the dust from the street gets in, so I have to keep my supplies covered up. It’s a simple life, moving from one wall to the next. I’ve seen this part of Noida change a lot over the years, but a fresh coat of paint is still something everyone needs eventually to make things feel new again.
