Hansdev Moorti Kala Kendra

We’ve been at A-285 in Sector 31 for a long time now. People mostly know us for the stone work we do here at Hansdev Moorti Kala Kendra. It is a bit of a messy place honestly, with marble dust everywhere and the sound of hammers going all day. My father started this and now we just keep it going because it’s what we know. We spend most of our mornings looking at slabs of stone and trying to figure out how to make them look like something real. It’s hard on the hands. Sometimes the weather gets too hot in the workshop but the work doesn’t stop. We don’t have a big fancy office or anything like that. Just the space where we carve and a small area to sit. Most of our neighbors in Sector 31 know the sound of our chisels by now. It’s quiet work in a way, even with the noise. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in town. We just like making these figures and seeing them finished. It takes a lot of patience to get the faces right on the statues. If you walk past, you'll see us covered in white powder from the stone. That is just how it is. We keep the doors open mostly. It’s just us here, doing the work we’ve done for years. It isn't perfect, but it’s our life.
