Our place is located in Noida Sec -4, specifically C -74. It’s an industrial sort of area, so there are always sounds of metal hitting metal or engines idling nearby. We handle building products, mostly gypsum-related things, which means our warehouse stays pretty white and chalky. It’s a large space but we always seem to find a way to fill every corner with pallets. The office is just a partitioned area with a few old computers and a coffee machine that works when it feels like it. Dealing with building materials means we talk to a lot of contractors and site supervisors who are always in a rush. They come in with their boots covered in mud and we try to get their paperwork done as fast as we can. Working in Noida, you get used to the heat in the summer; the warehouse feels like an oven sometimes, but we keep the big shutters open to get a breeze. My clothes usually have white marks on them by lunchtime. We don’t do much advertising; most people just know we’re here because they saw our gate or heard from someone else in the sector. It’s just us doing the same thing every day, making sure the inventory matches the sheets and the trucks get loaded without any drama. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment arrives, just to make sure everything is inside before the gates close.
