Fortis Hospital

Our team is based over at B 22 in Sector 62. Specifically, we spend our time around the Fortis Hospital cath lab area. It’s a very specific part of the building. You can tell when you’re close because the atmosphere changes. It’s more clinical and quiet compared to the main lobby. We have our small station where we keep track of things. There are monitors everywhere and the smell of antiseptic is something you just stop noticing after the first week. We don't have much in the way of windows, so we rely on the overhead lights. It’s a bit of a maze back here if you aren't used to it. We see a lot of people in scrubs moving back and forth. Our desks are tucked into a corner where we can stay out of the way of the main medical traffic. It’s not a place for lounging around. We usually eat our snacks quickly while standing up or sitting on a stool. The equipment takes up most of the room. It’s heavy and looks expensive. We make sure everything is where it should be. Working in Sector 62 means we are in a hub of activity, but inside the cath lab area, it feels like its own world. We just focus on the task at hand and try to be helpful. It’s a serious environment, but we still find time to share a joke now and then.
