Falak International

Sector 58 in Noida is a mix of big offices and small workshops. Falak International is at C-63, and it’s a pretty standard setup for this area. We have a ground floor for the stock and a small mezzanine where the paperwork happens. The stairs are a bit steep and they creak every time someone goes up. Most of the people working here live nearby, so we all know the local shortcuts to avoid the traffic during peak hours. During the monsoon, the road outside gets a bit flooded, and we have to put sandbags at the door to keep the water out. It’s not a perfect place, but it works for us. We spend our time checking boxes and making sure the labels are correct. We don't have any fancy mission statements on the wall. The only thing on our wall is a calendar from three years ago and a list of phone numbers for the local electricians and plumbers. Sometimes we have a quiet day where we just organize the shelves, and other days it feels like everyone wants their order delivered at the exact same time. We just take it as it comes. It’s a straightforward business where we focus on what’s in the boxes rather than how the office looks to outsiders. We usually finish up by six, lock the shutters, and head to the metro station together. It's a long commute for some, but that's just the way it is when you work in this part of town.
